PNP implements gun ban in NCR for Marcos Jr’s inauguration

The Philippine National Police (PNP) suspended on Monday, June 27 until Saturday, July 2, the permit to carry firearms outside residence in the National Capital Region for the inauguration of President-elect Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

According to PNP officer-in-charge LtGen. Vicente Danao, he approved the suspension to “ensure that the activities will be free from firearm-related incidents and to ensure the safety of the populace.”

The PNP, the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and other law enforcement agencies that will perform their duties on the inauguration will be allowed to carry firearms within Metro Manila. –KC/ag
