As this year’s observance of All Saints’ and All Souls’ Days comes to a close, the Philippine National Police (PNP) hailed the success of its measures and preparations that were undertaken as Filipinos traveled from one place to another to commemorate their deceased loved ones over the weekend.

In a media release, Acting PNP Chief PLt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. touted a generally peaceful Undas 2025 commemoration, with zero major untoward incidents recorded across the country.

Nartatez thanked the PNP personnel, “We thank our partner agencies and the Filipino people themselves for their cooperation, which allowed this year’s observance to remain peaceful, orderly, and secure in all regions.”

Nationwide monitoring showed 1,345,116 visitors across public and private cemeteries, with no recorded violations, arrests, or disorder. Police visibility and coordination with barangay officials, local government units, volunteer groups, and responders ensured that traffic flow, crowd movement, and security inside memorial parks remained steady and incident-free.

Passenger movement in transport hubs also remained smooth. As of November 2, 12:00 noon, the PNP recorded 12,975 airport passengers, 5,945 seaport passengers, and 5,212 terminal passengers nationwide, with no stranded commuters and no cancelled flights, sea trips, or provincial bus operations.

The PNP earlier deployed approximately 50,000 personnel in major points of convergence across the archipelago in anticipation of the influx of passengers and people flocking to cemeteries and columbaria to honor their relatives.

Echoing the remarks of the top PNP official, PNP Spokesperson and Chief PIO PBrig. Gen. Randulf Tuaño underscored the citizenry’s cooperation as a crucial factor in the success of the agency’s peacekeeping operations.

Buoyed by this success, Nartatez said that the preparations done by the PNP for Undas 2025 will serve as a blueprint for their security deployment plan this Christmas season, with the aim of ensuring that ‘zero untoward incidents’ will take place during the holiday revelries.

Meanwhile, in anticipation of passengers coming back from the provinces as the weekend-long observance comes to an end, the PNP-Highway Patrol Group (HPG) has deployed road safety units, mobile patrols, and checkpoints to ensure safety and discipline on Philippine roads.
