PNP-PDEA destroy P8.6-M marijuana in Kalinga

Police destroyed some 43,000 fully grown Marijuana plants and 400 grams of Cannabis products, with a total estimated Standard Drug Price of Php 8,648M in four plantation sites in Kalinga in a 3-day Marijuana eradication operation during the week.

Philippine National Police Chief Police General Debold M Sinas said the operations were launched by joint elements of PNP Drug Enforcement Group Special Operation Unit 1 (lead Unit), PDEA-CAR Kalinga PO, Tinglayan MPS, PDEU Kalinga, RDEU PRO-COR, 1st KPMFC, 2nd KPMFC, RMFB15 (1502nd MC), RMFB15 (1503rd MC), RID PRO-COR/RIU14, PIU Kalinga, Pangasinan PPO, Pinukpuk MPS, and Lubuagan MPS on April 12-14, 2021 in Tinglayan, Kalinga.

According to reports ,operatives conducted marijuana eradication in four (4) plantation sites at Brgy. Ngibat, Tinglayan, Kalinga, which resulted in the uprooting and destruction of 5,000 Fully Grown Marijuana Plants (FGMJP) estimated land area of 500 sqm at Site #1 with estimated Standard Drug Price of Php1.0 M pesos and 400 grams of marijuana dried leaves with estimated Standard Drug Price of Php 48,000.00; 10,000 FGMJP estimated land area of 1,000 sqm at Site#2 with estimated Standard Drug Price of Php2,000,000.00; 8,000 FGMJP, estimated land area of 800 sqm at Site #3 with estimated Standard Drug Price of Php1,600,000.00, and 20,000 FGMJP estimated land area of 2,000 sqm at Site #4 with estimated Standard Drug Price of Php 4,000,000.00;

The operation culminated at around 4:00 pm of April 14, 2021 and marijuana plants were immediately uprooted and burned in the area.

“We will continue with the marijuana eradication operations nationwide with the aim of totally ending the illegal cultivation and sale of this plant. Likewise, appropriate court charges awaits against identified weed cultivators,” PNP Chief Sinas said. (PNP-PIO)
