PNP reports 9 days of ‘Misa de Gallo’ as ‘generally peaceful’


The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported that the 9 days of “Misa de Gallo” in the country has been “generally peaceful.”

According to PNP Chief Police General Debold Sinas, the police has successfully implemented strict security measures since no untoward incidents have been reported during those 9 days amidst the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.

221,000 police officers will remain on full alert status to ensure that there is peace during the holiday season.

PGen. Sinas expressed gratitude towards the local government units (LGUs) and various church administrations for leading the strict observance of the public health guidelines and protocols during the 9 days of “Misa de Gallo.” – PTV News
