The Philippine National Police (PNP) has mobilized intelligence and tracker teams to locate contractor Cezarah Rowena “Sarah” Discaya and others implicated in an alleged ghost flood control project in Davao Occidental.

“We have mobilized [a] sufficient number of our personnel who will locate all those in the charge sheet,” Acting PNP Chief PLt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said in a statement on Sunday.

“Right now, we are collating all the essential pieces of information on the areas where they may individually seek refuge to ensure a smooth and fast serving of the arrest warrant.”

In a video message on Friday, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said he has ordered the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the PNP to locate Discaya and other personalities facing charges in connection with the ghost flood control project in Jose Abad Santos town.

“The President has given clear and urgent instructions, and we are treating this as a priority case,” he said.

As part of the expanded operational approach, the PNP has strengthened coordination with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), Bureau of Immigration (BI), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), airport authorities and local government units, particularly in areas where Discaya may have traveled or was last seen.

Village and neighborhood watch groups have been alerted to help monitor movements and report relevant information pertaining to the suspects.

Other respondents are Ma. Roma Angeline Remando and some representatives of St. Timothy Construction Corp., as well as several personnel from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

“All of our preparations are intended to make them feel that the only option left to them is to surrender,” Nartatez said.

The PNP chief called on the public, particularly those with direct knowledge or relevant information, to get in touch with authorities. (PNA)
