PNP thanks President Duterte for free legal assistance, unified pension system for MUP

Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief, Police General Guillermo Lorenzo T. Eleazar expressed gratitude to President Rodrigo Roa Duterte for pushing free legal assistance for police officers and soldiers.

In his last State of the Nation Address, President Duterte urged Congress to pass a law that would provide free legal assistance to both the military and the police in order to assist them when they face charges from incidents related to the performance of official duty.

PGen Eleazar welcomed President Duterte’s statement, saying that this will be a big help to PNP personnel.

Moreover, the PNP Chief also thanked Duterte for calling for a unified pension system for all uniformed personnel.

PGen Eleazar assured that the PNP would participate in discussions on these proposed legislations before the Congress. (PNP-PIO)-rir
