Police operations intensifies after the Harassment of Bayang Police Station

LANAO DEL SUR – Police operations in Bayang, Lanao Del Sur intensifies after the harassment of Bayang Municipal Police Station on November 22, 2020 at about 7:30 o’clock in the evening.

The report of Bayang Municipal Police Station disclosed that said police station was harassed and attacked by a group of more or less 50 unidentified armed men using firearms of unknown caliber which prompted the six (6) duty PNP Personnel to take defensive stance and fired back towards the attackers. After 10 minutes of firefight, allied units from Charlie Company, 55th Infantry Battalion of Philippine Army responded to the incident that prompted the perpetrators to withdraw to unknown directions. At around 8:00 PM of same date, eight (8) teams from Charlie Coy, 55th Infantry Battalion, PA and a team from 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company, Lanao Del Sur PPO simultaneously arrived and helped in securing the Municipal Police Station overnight.

On November 23, 2020, two (2) teams from the 1403rd Regional Mobile Force Company and 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company of Lanao Del Sur were deployed in the area as augmentation troops while tension in the place is still imminent.

Police Brigadier General Samuel P Rodriguez, Regional Director, PRO BAR directed the Acting Provincial Director of Lanao Del Sur Police Provincial Office to conduct thorough investigation to identify the motive and identity of perpetrators of this harassment.

The PNP and AFP are now conducting Joint Pursuit Operation for the possible apprehension of the suspects of this harassment.

PRO BAR is determined to put lawless elements behind bars. PRO BAR is also appealing to the public to cooperate with the police for possible identification and apprehension of the perpetrators of the said harassment.
