Police ops seize PHP780-K worth of shabu in Bacoor City

BACOOR CITY, Cavite – Police Intelligence and anti-drug enforcement units seized about PHP780,000 worth of suspected shabu from three suspected peddlers during their combined drug buy bust operations at a posh village here on Tuesday dawn.

Bacoor City chief of police Supt. Francisco Lucena III identified the arrested suspects as Mark John C. Castillo alias Mark, 30, tricycle driver of Cherry Homes Subdivision in Barangay Mambog 1, Bacoor City; Joshua B. Echon alias Jong, 20, of Barangay Palico 4, Imus City and the suspected minor alias Nene, 16, of Unit 206 Building 1 Ampton Barangay Buhay na Tubig, Imus City.

Lucena said seized from the suspects were 30 heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets of suspected ‘shabu,’ weighing around 120 grams with estimated market value of PHP 780,000.

The operatives also recovered the PHP 1,000 bill as marked money and around PHP10,000 suspected drug money from the custody and possession of Castillo.

Suspects Jong and Nene were arrested after they conspired with Castillo during the trade transaction.

The lawmen also seized from the suspects a 2008 model Motorstar STAR-X 125 tricycle with plate no.1084DW which was registered to a certain Myrene S. Llantino of Loqueb Norte in Malasiqui, Pangasinan.

The tricycle is now impounded at the police station for proper disposition as a case exhibit in court as the suspects are now detained for further investigation as appropriate charges will be filed against them.

The confiscated illegal drugs were also submitted to the PNP Crime Laboratory Office, Imus City for chemical analysis while the suspects were also subjected to drug test examinations. (Dennis Abrina/PNA)
