Port of NAIA conducts conference with Port of Subic to streamline customs process

The Bureau of Customs Port of NAIA team on November 24, 2021, under the supervision of District Collector Carmelita M. Talusan, conducted a best practices meeting with the Port of Subic to discuss measures being implemented on the clearance of goods, and the security of revenue on transshipments.

The conference served as a platform to discuss concerns on the viewpoint of customs over the logistics and operations of Joint Oil Companies Aviation Storage Plant located at MIAA Complex in Pasay City. Furthermore, the process flow of importation and transhipment were tackled by both Ports to protect the government’s revenue in both collection districts.

The discussions with Port of Subic headed by District Collector Maritess Martin, include the documentary requirements, supply chain management, and other relevant issuances on the processing of said importation.

Overall implementation and review of the processes are in accordance with the existing customs laws, rules and regulations, and the Republic Act (RA) No. 11534 also known as Corporate Recovery and Tax Incentives for Enterprises (CREATE) Act.

Under the leadership and guidance of Commissioner Rey Leonardo B. Guerrero, the Port of NAIA headed by Collector Talusan, remains committed in promoting professionalism and transparency, and in strengthening partnership and cooperation with concerned agencies and companies and other Ports, to ensure compliance with customs laws, rules and regulations, and that lawful revenues are collected while observing streamlined customs processes and ensuring the security of borders.
