PPEs from China arrive in PH

Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) from China have arrived in the Philippines Tuesday night.

The medical supplies were brought to the Villamor Airbase by a C130 aircraft. The boxes were immediately disinfected after unloading.

The number of sets of PPEs including gloves, N95 masks, surgical masks, goggles, and others were estimated to be more than 15,000.

According to the Department of Health (DOH), the PPEs are part of the PhP 1.8 billion government to government procurement between the Philippines and China. The department said that the supplies will be immediately distributed to hospitals, prioritizing COVID zone hospitals .

The next flight to acquire the rest of the PPEs is on April 2 and is expected to be completed on April 6.

The Philippine Air Force (PAF) assures that the target date will be met. They are making sure that the aircrafts to be used are in good shape and that their workforce is enough.

The PAF also ensures that necessary protocols are followed especially in travelling to and from the country. – Report from Kenneth Paciente
