President Duterte honors slain police officer in Bulacan

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on early Wednesday morning, March 14, visited the wake of SPO1 Ronaldo B. Legaspi in Norzagaray, Bulacan.

The 45-year-old police officer died in a buy-bust operation on March 11 in Norzagaray, Bulacan.

During his visit, the Chief Executive posthumously awarded Legaspi the Order of Lapu-Lapu Rank of Kalasag.

The award is conferred upon individuals who lost their lives as a direct result of their participation in an activity pursuant to a campaign or advocacy of the President.

President Duterte extended financial assistance to the family, including scholarship to the children. He also gave a mobile phone.

Legaspi is survived by his parents, wife, and three children.

Accompanying the President during the wake visit were Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Bong” Go and Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald dela Rosa. (PND)
