President Duterte visits wake of deceased soldier

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Thursday, June 7, visited the wake of a lieutenant colonel at the Libingan ng mga Bayani Mortuary in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.

President Duterte personally condoled with the family of Lieutenant Colonel Ricky Navarro who died of cardiac arrest on June 3.

The 49-year-old soldier was the Commander of the 10th Military Intelligence Battalion under the 10th Infantry Division.

Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Chief of Staff General Carlito Galvez, and former AFP Chief of Staff Emmanuel Bautista also condoled with the late soldier’s family.

The Chief Executive gave the deceased soldier’s wife, Mrs. Rosita Navarro, financial assistance and a mobile phone.

Duterte also assured the wife that she could call his office for any assistance.

Before leaving the wake, the Commander-in-Chief gave his final salute to the lieutenant colonel. (PND)
