President Duterte won’t beg for emergency powers to solve traffic problem

Pres. Rodrigo Duterte shall no longer push for the requested emergency powers from Congress to remedy traffic congestion in the country, particularly in Metro Manila. The Chief Executive said that it was brought up in the past but a senator opposed the proposal since it could be an avenue for corruption. Instead, the President shall be issuing an order for police escorts to assist emergency or ambulance vehicles in hurdling the motorway gridlock.
