Presidential aspirants continue push for campaign with caravans and other activities

Presidential aspirants have continued with caravan campaigns over the weekend and have conducted other activities to push their presidential campaign forward.

Among other activities of the candidates, the Lacson-Sotto tandem earlier went to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) for a voluntary drug test.

“Except to say, I am 1,000% sure he was not referring to me – I have no comment,” Sen. Panfilo Lacson said.

“What we underwent was not the ordinary testing. PDEA uses a multi-drug testing kit. It can check all types of illegal drugs. Encompassing holistic drug test. Ordinary testing only checks marijuana and shabu,” Senate President Vicente Sotto III said.

They both tested negative.

Protect the candidate

According to Davao City Mayor and vice presidential aspirant Sara Duterte-Carpio, she chose presidential aspirant Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. as her running mate because of his experience in government like his experience as governor and in the legislature.

The presidential daughter then defended her running mate.

“Unsay mabuhat natong tanan? Kinahanglan una, paniguraduhon nato nga maprotektahan nato ang atoang pagsuporta. Protektahan nato ang atoang kandidato. Protektahan nato si BBM. (Ano ang magagawa nating lahat? Kailangan nating protektahan ang ating pagsuporta. Protekatahan natin ang ating kandidato. Protektahan natin si BBM.),” she said.

Meanwhile, vice presidential aspirant and House Deputy Speaker Lito Atienza was surprised that President Duterte was not supporting Bongbong Marcos.

“Akala ko nagkasundo na sila eh. Ang kanilang projections sa bayan eh parang done deal, nag-usap usap na ang makapangyarihang pamilya, pinag-usapan ang division of soils, mayaman, kapangyarihan, power, yun ang kanilang pinag-uusapan eh,” Atienza said.

Despite this, based on Marcos’ last vlog on Nov. 20 on his Youtube channel, he insisted on the continuation of the good deeds of President Duterte.

“At sa pinagbuklod naming layunin, na ituloy ang mga magandang nasimulan ni Pangulong Duterte para sa ating bansa, ay magiging matagumpay tayo sa inaasam nating pagbangon at kaunlaran,” Marcos said.

Visit to Arroceros Park

Meanwhile, Metro Manila Mayor and presidential aspirant Isko Moreno visited Arroceros Park after meeting with the Winner Foundation and other environmentalists.

He also thanked his supporters from Mindanao, especially those in Butuan City for the caravan held for his campaign.

Lugaw-one

As for Leni’s campaign, her supporters launched Lugaw-one all over the country.

Youth leaders led Lugaw-one in Basilan where they distributed lugaw among the youth and residents.

The campaign was also launched in Marinduque, Marawi, Capiz, Baguio City, Cordillera, Tondo, and Masbate.

Issues on agriculture and the environment

Some of the issues that presidential aspirant Ka Leody will be focusing on are issues on agriculture and the environment.

Ka Leody visited fishermen of Los Banos, Laguna where he discussed the issue of environmental exploitation which is the problem in Laguna de Bay and how it affects ordinary fishermen.

World Children’s Day

Meanwhile, presidential aspirant Sen. Manny Pacquiao was one in joining World Children’s Day.

He expressed his desire to include in his commitment the rights and safety of children.

He said that with the help of every Filipino, he will try to provide sufficient food and good education to the children so that they can have a prosperous future. – Report from Daniel Manalastas/PG-rir
