Aspiring presidential candidates continued on Saturday (Dec. 11) their pre-campaign period activities by visiting several areas across the country.
The tandem of Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Sara Duterte-Carpio headed to Rizal, with a meet and greet in Antipolo City. The event was also attended by aspiring senatorial candidates Harry Roque and Jinggoy Estrada.
“Ang aming pamilya po, ang pamilyang Duterte ay may utang na loob sa inyong lahat dahil sa pagmamahal at suporta na ibinibigay ninyo sa aming pamilya. Ang role ko po o ang tax ko po ay pagbabayad sa inyo ng matapat na serbisyo sa ating bansa,” the presidential daughter said.
Sen. Panfilo Lacson and vice presidential aspirant Senate President Vicente Sotto III were also in Dumaguete City, and met with local officials and business leaders.
The Lacson-Sotto tandem were accompanied by former Philippine National Police (PNP) chief Guillermo Eleazar and Dr. Minguita Padilla.
Lacson, one of the authors of the Anti-Terror Law, welcomed the recent Supreme Court’s decision on the legislation.
“Peace wins over terror and we are very happy with the decision no matter how they claim that they achieve partial victory, why are they whining, why are they protesting, why they are appealing,” he said.
“Kung nanalo sila, there’s no partial victory to speak of. It’s a total victory for peace against terror,” he added.
Vice President Leni Robredo, meanwhile, had a dialogue with Urban Poor Associates and the Koalisyon ng mga Organisadong Samahan ng Maralitang Tagalunsod.
Bataeño Doctors for Leni also distributed gift packs to the Aeta community in Brgy. Kinaragan, Limay.
Sen. Manny Pacquiao said he will not turn his back on the needy and thanked his supporters. He visited Batasan Hills, Commonwealth, Novaliches, and Payatas.
