This is to inform that Iloilo City has been placed under Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ) effective September 25, 2020 until October 9, 2020.

We likewise notify the public that facility-based isolation shall be required for confirmed asymptomatic and mild COVID-19 cases, except where, as confirmed by the local health officer, the patient is considered vulnerable or having comorbidities and that his/her home meets the conditions specified in the Department of Health and the Department of the Interior and Local Government Joint Administrative Order 2020-0001. Another exception would be when the Ligtas COVID-19 Centers within the region are fully occupied and the local government unit does not have sufficient isolation facilities.

We further state that effective October 1, 2020, Boracay Island may accept tourists from areas within a community quarantine classification of General Community Quarantine or lower, apart from travelers from Western Visayas. In this regard, the Test-Before-Travel shall be implemented and strict quarantine shall be observed immediately after undergoing the test until the date of the travel to the island. In addition, age restrictions shall be relaxed and restrictions as to persons with comorbidities will remain to be strictly enforced. Airlines are likewise advised to land at the Godofredo R. Ramos Airport in Caticlan. Minimum health and safety guidelines as well as emergency response protocols must be in place, and a COVID-19 Laboratory in the locality must be operational.
