BAGUIO CITY — A total of 452 policemen from the six provinces and two cities of the region are the recipient of nine training and seminar programs of the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR) that started in November, the Police Regional Office Cordillera (PROCOR) said on Monday.

“The training and seminars were completed in two weeks to develop and improve the performance and skills of every PROCOR personnel through an organized, innovative, and well-focused program,” Tacio said.

She said the nine are part of the 31 training courses which were programmed for 2018 in line with the certification of the PROCOR Regional Training Action Plan of the Philippine National Police.

“There are still eight remaining training courses programmed for 2018 which will be conducted or at least opened before the year ends,” Tacio said.

The trainings and seminars facilitated by the Regional Human Resource Development Division (RHRDD) include Training for Summary Hearing Officer; Patrol Officers Basic Course (POBC), Criminal Investigation Course (CIC), Specialized Course for WCPD Officers, Next Generation Investigation Solution (NGIS), Men Opposed to Violence Everywhere (MOVE) Orientation, Opening of Police Correspondence and Technical Writing Training, Police Investigation Officers Basic Course, Crime Scene First Responders Workshop.

It also includes the basic gun handling proficiency and maintenance of 5.56-millimeter basic assault firearm.

“PROCOR aims to boost the knowledge and skills to equip the personnel with the proper approach in the different fields of operation which is very valuable to police officers in the performance of their duties,” she said.

“The training and seminars, are an instrument of change, an instrument of developing PROCOR personnel to bring them to a desired level of efficiency,” she added.

She said that policemen continue to undergo training and seminars while in service to update their skills and capabilities as well as hone their talents to make them more effective police officers.

“Training and learning are continuing processes, and the real training takes place at the work place where knowledge is challenged with actual situations,” Tacio said.
