PRRD: ‘Araw ng Kagitingan’ is a reminder of Filipinos’ unyielding determination

By NG Seruela

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte joined the entire nation in the commemoration of “Araw ng Kagitingan” on Friday (April 9).

President Duterte pointed out that this day is a “firm reminder” of the “unyielding determination” of Filipinos in succeeding over all forms of difficulties.

“The valor of our forebears, which was exhibited during the defense of Bataan almost eight decades ago, has left an indelible mark in our history and shaped our indomitable spirit to rise after every fall,” he said.

The Chief Executive also recognized the selflessness and dedication of Filipino frontliners that “reflect” the heroism of the warriors of Bataan as the country continues to battle the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Today, we honor our fallen soldiers whose sacrifice became the bedrock of our resolve to uphold our most cherished liberties. May this awareness resonate among us as we strive to become worthy heirs to the nation that they fought and bled for. A meaningful and solemn remembrance to all,” he concluded.
