PRRD asks for more options from IATF-EID on ECQ

President Rodrigo Duterte has yet to decide on the right move for the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon until April 30.

According to Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) Spokesperson and Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, the President has ordered the IATF-EID to conduct a more extensive research on the situation to create more options.

“Noong nag-present po yung members ng IATF to the President, hindi pa po nakapag-decide si Pangulong Duterte. Ang mangyayari sa amin today is bawat isa sa amin na mga miyembro ng IATF will continue to look at all of these options. Para pagbalik namin tomorrow, we will come back with ano yung aming panibago inputs. (When the IATF members have presented to the President, he did not yet decide. What will happen today is each member of the IATF will continue to look at all of the options. So when we return tomorrow, we will come back with new inputs.),” Nograles shared.

IATF Spokesperson Karlo Nograles also said that the spread of Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) is now being managed better by the government due to the expanded testing in the country. “We’ve been able to slow down the infection rate ng COVID-19. Nama-manage na po natin, so ‘yun yung isa sa mga basis na tinitingnan natin (We can manage it, so it is one of the bases that we are looking at) which gives us more confidence on what to do after April 30.”
