PRRD: Ceasefire is dead

President Rodrigo R. Duterte firmly President Rodrigo R. Duterte firmly made it clear that he will not declare a ceasefire with the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army-National Democratic Front (CPP-NPA-NDF) in his remaining term as President.

According to President Duterte, he will not let the safety of the government troops be compromised since the communists do not comply with their agreement.

“So for all intents and purposes, the ceasefire is dead, and the peace talks between the NDF, the NPA. Pati kayong lahat (all of you), I am identifying you because I have seen the record. You are really communists.”

The Chief Executive also threatened to stop all the mayhem being caused by the communists.

“I have to destroy you. Well, I’m trying to sort out what we will do to you because you are now criminals and I said I have pointed out we are not only tagging you. That’s a light… We are identifying you and we will identify you anytime you want. But there will be a time before my [term ends], I will name all of you, kayong lahat sa NDF, pati who are in others. (everyone in the NDF, and those who are in others).”

The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has thanked President Duterte for “heeding the AFP’s recommendation not to declare ceasefire this holiday season and beyond.” – Report from Mela Lesmoras
