PRRD certifies DOFiL bill as urgent


President Rodrigo R. Duterte has certified the bill creating the Department of Overseas Filipinos as urgent.

Hoping to lessen the hardships of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in other countries, President Duterte requested in his letter to Senate President Vicente Sotto III the immediate passing of the said bill which aims to protect the rights of OFWs.

The Chief Executive mentioned the DOFiL bill in his State of the Nation Address (SONA) as priority legislation of his administration. It has been passed on the third and final reading at the House of Representatives. – PTV News
