President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has ordered the distribution of a one-time financial assistance of ₱20,000 to Employees’ Compensation pensioners.
The President signed Administrative Order No. 39 on Monday (April 19).
He ordered the Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) to help distribute the aid to individuals qualified to receive the pension due to permanent partial disability, permanent total disability, and survivorship.
AO No. 39 aims to aid the pensioners amid the COVID-19 pandemic. It will benefit 31,000 pensioners of the Social Security System and Government Service Insurance System.
Meanwhile, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III lauded the order and said the ECC has allotted funds worth ₱600 million for the financial assistance.
