President Rodrigo R. Duterte ordered the local government units (LGUs) on Wednesday night to provide free face masks for their constituents.
“The provincial government and the municipal governments and the city governments, I require you to buy and give it for free,” the Chief Executive directed after saying that some individuals do not have the capability to buy masks even food.
President Duterte also reiterated the importance of wearing face masks in preventing the further spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) stating that the masks “can save you a lot of trouble and expense”.
