PRRD to prioritize rehab of policemen’s hospital

MANILA—Special Assistant to the President Christopher “Kuya Bong” Go on Wednesday said the President will prioritize the rehabilitation of medical facilities for policemen.

Go, the guest of honor and speaker during the 25th anniversary of the Philippine National Police Health Service at the PNP headquarters in Camp Crame, said the chief executive is keen on improving the hospitals for policemen similar to the rehabilitation of facilities for the Armed Forces.

Aside from the PNP General Hospital, there are also ongoing talks to upgrade the health services facilities in Camp Panopio into a medical plaza.

Go said the President is thankful of the service of the PNP health services unit members and cited the vital role they played in the battle for Marawi City.

The PNP Health Services is one of the oldest national support units of the PNP and traces its origins to the Medical Corps of the defunct Philippine Constabulary, the precursor of the PNP in 1903 under Capt. William Baker. (Benjamin Pulta/PNA)
