PRRD promotes Coast Guard chief Hermogino to admiral

MANILA — President Rodrigo R. Duterte has promoted Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) commandant Rear Admiral Elson Hermogino to the rank of admiral.

Hermogino’s appointment paper was released by Malacañang on Tuesday.

“Pursuant to the provisions of existing laws, you are hereby appointed Admiral (0-10), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Department of Transportation (DOTr),” Hermogino’s appointment paper read.

Hermogino was appointed as commandant of the Philippine Cost Guard (PCG) January this year.

Hermogino is a member of the Philippine Military Academy Class of 1985 and was a Maritime Safety Service Commander prior to his appointment.

PCG is one of the attached agencies of the DOTr headed by Secretary Arthur Tugade. (PNA)
