DAVAO CITY – The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in Region 11 (BJMP-11) has 10 new prisoner vans provided by President Rodrigo Duterte to help transport prisoners from the jail to the courts during their trial.
Jail Insp. Edo Lobenia, spokesperson of BJMP-11, on Wednesday said the 10 vans were part of the 250 units allocated for BJMP and will be used in jail operations, such as escorting and transporting prisoners.
According to Lobenia, BJMP has a budget of PHP299 million for the procurement of the vehicles. During the first procurement of 72 vans, BJMP-11 was given five vans.
“BJMP-11 is grateful of the support and assistance given to us by the President,” Lobenia said.
Lobenia said BJMP remains committed to supporting the President Duterte’s war against illegal drugs and corruption.
