PRRD receives own national ID

President Rodrigo R. Duterte has received his own national ID Wednesday.

In a simple ceremony in Malacañang, National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Acting Secretary Karl Chua handed the President his own Philippine Identification System (PhilSys) ID.

It can be recalled that President Duterte registered his biometric information under the national identification system in January. He signed the Philippine Identification Act in August 2018 that aims to create a national ID for Filipinos and resident aliens.

The PhilSys ID aims to unify various government IDs into one in order to accomplish easier and quicker government transactions. The registration for the said ID began on October 2020. -PTV News Online
