PRRD reiterates no term extension, no Sara Duterte in 2022

President Rodrigo R. Duterte reiterated his unwillingness to extend his term as President and discouraged Davao City Mayor Sara “Inday” Duterte from running in 2022.

President Duterte stated in his speech in the inauguration of the Metro Manila Skyway Stage 3 (MMSS-3) Project Thursday that even if the term extension is given to him on a “silver platter,” he would still decline the offer.

“Maski ibigay mo sa akin libre another 10 years, sabihin ko sa iyo, iyo na lang ‘yan. Tapos na ako (Even if you give another 10 years, I’ll tell you to keep it. I’m done with it).”

The Chief Executive then mentioned how his daughter is being urged to run.

“My daughter is not running. I have told Inday not to run kasi naaawa ako sa dadaanan niya na dinaanan ko (I have told Inday not to run because I don’t want her to go through what I went through).”

“Hindi ito pambabae. Alam mo, (This is not for women. You know,) the emotional set-up of a woman and a man is totally different. That is the sad story,” he pointed out.

Moreover, President Duterte hopes that the next president will be as “forceful and resolute” to confront the “almost evil practice of people going around the country” or corruption.

At the end of his speech, he assured the Filipinos that his administration will continue to pursue the Build, Build, Build program guided by the “highest standards of integrity, transparency and accountability.”

The 75-year-old President will end his term in 2022.
