PRRD thanks Chinese President for CoronaVac donation

President Rodrigo R. Duterte has expressed his gratitude towards Chinese President Xi Jinping following the arrival of the 600,000 CoronaVac doses donated by China.

In his weekly address, the Chief Executive thanked the generosity of the Chinese people and government.

“I’d like to thank President Xi Jinping…From the bottom of my heart and with immense gratitude, I thank you, the Chinese people and government for being so generous. Maybe someday I can repay you if I would still have enough time in this planet.”

As he welcomed the arrival of the donated vaccines Sunday, President Duterte pointed out that the donation given by China is a gesture of “friendship and solidarity” which are the “hallmarks of the Philippine-China partnership”. He also revealed that the Philippines is the only country where “China delivered [the vaccines] using a military plane”.

“I would like to travel to China even one day just to tell Pres. Xi Jinping “thank You” and I fly home,” he shared.

In relation to this, President Duterte revealed that Chinese Ambassador Huang Xilian “whispered something very encouraging” to him. However, he held off the details and will leave it to the “benefactors to announce” the matter. -PTV News Online
