ZAMBOANGA CITY — President Rodrigo Duterte is set to spearhead the grand rally of the Partido Demokratikong Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban) on Sunday, March 3, in this southern port city.

First district Rep. Celso Lobregat, the PDP-Laban local chairperson, on Thursday said President Duterte will endorse the party’s senatorial and guest candidates during the big event, which will be held at the Mayor Agan Coliseum in Barangay Teutan, this city.

President Duterte is also expected to endorse the local PDP-Laban candidates.

Lobregat said the March 3 event will be the fourth PDP-Laban rally to be held in the country. The first PDP-Laban grand rally was held in Bulacan, second in Laguna, and third in Cebu.

“We are very fortunate that PDP-Zamboanga will be hosting the biggest political event here in our city, and I am grateful to our national headquarters and President Duterte for choosing this city as the venue,” Lobregat said.

He said PDP-Laban candidates from all over the region are expected to attend the grand rally on Sunday aside from the senatorial and guest candidates.

The PDP-Laban senatorial bets are Zajid Mangudadatu, Ronald dela Rosa, Christopher Lawrence “Bong” Go, Senator Aquilino Pimentel III, and Francis Tolentino.

The party’s guest candidates are Senators Cynthia Villar, Sonny Angara, JV Ejercito, Taguig Representative Pia Cayetano, Ilocos Governor Imee Marcos, singer Freddie Aguilar, and former Interior Secretary Rafael Alunan III.
