BANGKOK — President Rodrigo Duterte arrived here for the 34th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit past 9 p.m. Friday (Manila time).
The President was welcomed at the Suvarnabhumi Airport by Thai Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngam and Thai Ministry of Foreign Affairs Protocol Nadhavathna Krishnamra.
On the Philippine side, those who welcomed the President included Philippine Ambassador to Thailand Mary Jo Bernardo-Aragon.
The President will spend his Saturday here by meeting with chief executive officers of Thailand’s top business groups and a bilateral meeting with Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
Duterte’s official delegation consists of Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr., Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez III, Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol, Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon Lopez, Social Welfare Secretary Rolando Joselito Bautista, Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, Presidential Spokesperson Salvador Panelo, Communication Secretary Martin Andanar, and Noel Servigon, the Philippine Permanent Representative to the Asean.
