PRRD wants reshuffling in BOC

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte on Monday night warned anew the Bureau of Customs (BOC) to perform its functions properly amid reports he has received on the continuous entry of illegal drugs in ports.

“I called Jagger, si Guerrero dito (here). Commissioner, sabi ko sa kanya (I told him), ‘I want to see a reshuffle of the different regional offices within the next two or three days.’ That goes for the NBI pati (and) PhilHealth,” President Duterte stated.

The president is also hoping to put an end to the problem in the agency since all support have been given to it.

Meanwhile, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque confirmed the Chief Executive has already talked to Customs Commissioner Rey Leonardo Guerrero on the matter.

“I saw Commissioner Jagger (Guerrero) yesterday and they had a separate meeting although I was not privy to the meeting,” Roque disclosed.

“I know as much as you do because the Presidente declared na sinabihan niya si Commissioner Jagger na patuloy pa rin ang pagpasok ng droga diyan sa Customs at sabi nga niya gamitin iyong mga baril na binigay niya sa Customs para mabawasan talaga iyang drug trafficking (I know as much as you do because the President declared that he told Commissioner Jagger that the entry of drugs is continuous at the Customs, and he was told to use the guns given to Customs to strike down drug trafficking),” – Report from Mela Lesmoras
