President Rodrigo Duterte on Thursday warned individuals and groups engaged in the issuance of bogus RT-PCR test results.
“I will have to order the police again… I have to order the police and the military to find out and arrest these people,” he said.
He pointed out the importance of RT-PCR testing, the gold standard in COVID-19 testing in the Philippines, to determine the extent of transmission and the response to it. But conflicting results have come to his attention.
He also cautioned individuals engaged in the illegal sale of vaccines since the only available COVID-19 vaccines in the Philippines are under emergency use approval.
“At saka ‘yang nagpapabili ng bakuna. Naku, huwag ka sanang mahuli. ‘Pag nahuli ka, ipatawag kita sa Malacañan (Those buying vaccines. If you’re caught, I will summon you in Malacañan),” he stated. – Report from Mela Lesmoras
