PSA: Nanatili sa 4.5% ang inflation ng Pilipinas

Iniulat ng Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) ngayong Miyerkules (Mayo 5) na hindi nagbago ang antas ng paggalaw ng presyo ng pangunahing bilihin o inflation nitong buwan ng Abril.

Ayon sa ahensya, nanatili sa 4.5% ang inflation ng bansa dahil sa mas mabagal na pagtaas ng presyo ng pagkain at non-alcoholic beverage. Partikular namang bumaba ang inflation sa prutas, bigas at dairy products. Binalanse nito ang tumaas na inflation sa karne, tulad ng baboy na may 22.3% inflation.

Samantala, sinabi ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) na pasok ito sa kanilang 4.2% to 5% inflation forecast range.

Ayon sa BSP, nakatulong ang pansamantalang pagbawas sa import tariff upang bigyang-tugon ang mababang suplay at mataas na presyo ng baboy.

“The timely approval of the temporary cut in pork import tariffs is seen to help address supply constraints and ease price pressures going forward. In addition, inflation expectations remain well-anchored to the inflation target over the policy horizon.”
