The People’s Television Network, Inc. (PTNI) and the National Anti-Poverty Commission (NAPC) are ready to help intensify government efforts to address poverty in the country as the two agencies renewed their partnership to produce a new season of the AnakTV Seal awardee program “Aksyon Laban sa Kahirapan”.

The signing of a memorandum of agreement was led by PTNI General Manager Maria Lourdes Choa-Fagar and NAPC Lead Convenor, Sec. Lope Santos III at the PTV head office in Quezon City on Monday.

Choa-Fagar said that they are looking forward to the program’s second season, which will continue to amplify the voices of the communities across the 14 basic sectors under NAPC.

“That’s why we tell the stories not just to inform but to inspire action,” the Network General Manager said.

“For years, NAPC’s Aksyon Laban sa Kahirapan has walked with us in this mission, and now with this renewed partnership, we are reminded again that the real change takes consistency and commitment,” she added.

Santos, meanwhile, emphasized that the program aims to push for more effective reforms in legislation and improvements in the anti-poverty programs of the government.

“Gusto natin ipakita na ‘yung pondo na inaprubahan ng Kongreso, kung papaano nakakarating sa community, at ‘yon ang kinukwento natin,” he said.

Hosted by Diane Querrer and produced by PTV’s Program Production Services Division, the Aksyon Laban sa Kahirapan first aired in May 2023 for a total of 22 episodes.

In January 2025, the show began airing every Tuesday and Thursday as part of the Rise and Shine Pilipinas morning show with 48 episodes. Season 2 will add 35 more episodes. (with report from Vel Custodio / PTV News)
