QC Mayor Belmonte tests positive for COVID-19

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte has confirmed that she has tested positive for the Corona Virus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Mayor Belmonte has stated that she is in good condition and is asymptomatic. She is currently quarantined while the Quezon City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit is starting its contact tracing with her close contacts.

According to the QC Mayor, despite having precautionary measures, it is possible that she acquired the virus in the special concern lockdown areas and health centers, and hospitals when she checked the situation in those places.
