QC re-imposes liquor ban

Quezon City has issued Executive Order No. 35 returning the liquor ban in the city until August 18 due to the Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine.

The local government unit (LGU) has allowed drinking of liquor only in a private setting.

“Kapag nag localized lockdown at nag-iimbestiga kami ng index cases, kadalasan po ‘yung dahilan kung bakit nagkakaroon ng community transmission is because nag-iinuman ang taong bayan (When we implement localized lockdown and we investigate the index cases, community transmission happens when people get into drinking sprees),” Mayor Joy Belmonte has shared.

According to the LGU, violators will face punishment in accordance with the EO.
