QCPD: Observe guidelines on sale, distribution, consumption of liquor as ban lifted in Quezon City

Following the lifting of liquor ban by the Quezon City government, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) Director, Police Brigadier General Ronnie S Montejo tells the public to strictly observe and abide by the guidelines of Executive Order 31 (EO 31) which regulates its sale, distribution and consumption amidst the existing Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine (MECQ).

PBGen Montejo reiterated that the EO 31 signed by Mayor Joy Belmonte, the sale distribution of alcoholic beverages shall only be permitted from1:00 PM to 500 PM everyday.

The consumption of any liquor, wine, beer, or any other alcoholic or intoxicating beverage shall only be allowed within private residences for the duration of the MECQ.

The EO also stated that High-Volume Retailers like supermarkets, groceries and Low-Volume Retailers such as sari-sari stores and kiosks must limit the amount of alcoholic beverage.

The city-wide ban on liquor took effect last March 26, 2020 when Mayor Belmonte signed Executive Order 24 Series of 2020 which prohibited the sale and distribution of liquor and other intoxicating products and regulating the consumption within Quezon City during the ECQ period.
