Quake rocks Bukidnon

MANILA, Aug. 5 — A magnitude 4.8 earthquake of tectonic origin rocked Bukidnon province Saturday (Aug. 5) but Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) isn’t expecting damages and aftershocks from the temblor.

Phivolcs said the 3:39 p.m. earthquake struck 10 km north 10° west of Bukidnon’s Maramag municipality (Bukidnon) at a depth of 9.0 km.

The earthquake was reported at Intensity III in Cagayan de Oro City and Kidapawan CIty, noted Phivolcs.

Such earthquake was also reported at instrumental intensity III in Cagayan de Oro City, Phivolcs added. (CJT/PNA)
