In a press briefing at Camp Crame on Friday, DILG Sec. Benjamin Abalos Jr. said Pauleen Canada was arrested in an intelligence operation by the PNP – Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), Special Action Force (SAF), and the Regional Intelligence Division of PNP Region 11 at Emily Homes Subdivision through an arrest warrant issued by the Pasig City Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 159.

Canada is also tagged as sixth most wanted person by the PNP Region 11.

“Pinapakita po natin sa inyo si Pauleen Canada; isa po siya sa mga pugante na nagtago, at nakita po ninyo kung gaano kaimportante ang pagtutulungan ng bawat isa,” Abalos said, adding that the bounty on Canada’s head had helped in her arrest.

Private individuals pooled a total of P10 million reward for any information that will lead to the embattled preacher’s arrest as well as P1 million each for his five co-accused namely: Crisente, Pauleen, and Ingrid Canada, Sylvia Cemañes, and Jackielyn Roy.

Quiboloy and his co-accused are facing child and sexual abuse as well as human trafficking charges.

PNP Chief, Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil likewise shared that the police have been receiving numerous calls regarding the possible whereabouts of Quiboloy following the announcement of the bounty, which helped their investigation to move faster.

“Maraming tumawag, and one of the tawag po tumugma sa ginagawa nating surveillance,” Marbil said.

Abalos urged the televangelist and other co-accused to show up and face the cases against them.

“Lumiliit na ho ang mga pinagtataguan ninyo. Lumiliit na ang mga lugar na ito dahil hindi po titigil ang kapulisan, ang militar, ang buong puwersa ng gobyerno para kayo ay dakipin,” the Interior chief said. (with report Benjie Durango/PTV News)
