Rain showers seen in Luzon, Visayas due to LPA, ‘habagat

Western sections of Central Luzon, Southern Luzon, and Visayas will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to low pressure area (LPA) and southwest monsoon or “habagat.”

In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the LPA was last spotted 440 kilometers west of Dagupan City, Pangasinan.

The weather bureau said the “combined effects” of the LPA and southwest monsoon will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, Zambales, and Bataan.

The rest of the country will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to “habagat” or localized thunderstorms.

Light to moderate winds headed southwest to southeast will prevail over the whole country with slight to moderate coastal waters.

Temperate will range from 24.6°C to 29.4°C. (PNA) – gb
