Many areas in the country will continue to experience rains due to the shear line and the northeast monsoon or “amihan,” said the weather bureau on Friday.

Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the shear line will prevail over Caraga and Davao Oriental.

Rains caused by the northeast monsoon will be experienced over Cagayan Valley and Bicol regions, the provinces of Apayao, Aurora, Quezon, Marinduque, Romblon and Oriental Mindoro.

These areas may experience flash floods or landslides due to moderate with at times heavy rains, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said.

Isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms are expected over Palawan, the Visayas, and the rest of Mindanao. These areas may also experience flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have light rains caused by the northeast monsoon.

Meanwhile, the moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail over the whole archipelago.

The northern and eastern seaboards of Luzon, western seaboard of Northern Luzon, and the western seaboards of Southern Luzon and the Visayas will have rough to very rough seas.

PAGASA advised fishing boats and other small seacraft not to venture into the sea, and larger sea vessels are alerted against big waves. (PNA)
