Rain showers seen in most parts of PH due to shear line, ITCZ

MANILA – Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will prevail over Cagayan Valley region and provinces of Apayao and Ilocos Norte due to shear line, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Sunday, Apr. 3.

The shear line is the boundary at which the northeasterly wind flow and the easterlies meet.

In its weather bulletin, PAGASA also reported that Visayas, Mindanao, Masbate, and Sorsogon will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

Easterlies or localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon.

Residents in affected areas are warned against possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds moving northeast will blow over Northern Luzon bringing moderate to rough coastal waters while moderate to strong winds heading northeast with moderate to rough coastal waters will be felt over the rest of the country.

The minimum temperature is 23.8°C and the maximum temperature is 33.2 °C. (PNA) – bny
