Rain showers to prevail across Luzon

By Ma. Cristina Arayata | Philippine News Agency

MANILA — Luzon will continue to experience rains due to two weather systems affecting the country, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Friday (Jan. 21).

In its 4:00 a.m. weather advisory, PAGASA said the shear line affecting the eastern section of southern Luzon will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Region 4A (Calabarzon) and Bicol region.

Flash floods and landslides are likely during moderate to heavy rains.

Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Aurora will experience rains due to the northeast monsoon or amihan.

The northeast monsoon will also bring isolated light rain showers over the rest of Luzon.

The Visayas and Mindanao will have isolated rain showers caused by localized thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will continue to prevail over the entire archipelago, PAGASA said. (PNA)  -ag
