Rainy Friday across PH due to LPA, ITCZ

By Ma. Cristina Arayata | Philippine News Agency

MANILA – Most parts of the country will experience rains due to a low pressure area (LPA) and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), the weather bureau said Friday, Nov. 18.

In its 5 a.m. weather bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the two weather systems will bring scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over the Visayas, Mindanao, Mimaropa, Bicol region, Quezon, and the southern portion of Aurora province.

The LPA, which was last tracked 245 km. east of General Santos City, is embedded along the ITCZ.

It remains less likely to develop into a tropical cyclone within 24 hours, PAGASA said.

Meanwhile, the rest of Luzon will experience isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

Moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas continue to prevail over extreme northern Luzon.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. – gb
