Rainy Sunday in Luzon due to LPA: PAGASA

MANILA — A low pressure area (LPA) spotted in the vicinity of Maddela, Quirino will cause rains over Luzon, state weather agency Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Sunday morning.

Cloudy skies with moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms are expected over Bicol, Cagayan, Apayao, Ilocos Norte, Batanes and Babuyan Group of Islands.

Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms.

Visayas and Mindanao, on the other hand, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers, mostly in the afternoon or in the evening.

Moderate to strong winds will prevail over Luzon, and its coastal waters will be moderate to rough.

In eastern Visayas, moderate to occasionally strong winds will blow from northwest to southwest, and its coastal waters will be moderate to occasionally rough.

Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate with slight to moderate seas, PAGASA said. (Ma. Cristina C. Arayata/PNA)
