RDC CALABARZON gives P0.5-M aid for fallen soldiers in Marawi City

IMUS CITY, Cavite — The Regional Development Council (RDC) in Region IV-A (CALABARZON) has donated PHP 520,500 financial aid to the fallen soldiers in Marawi City.

In a report on Monday, RDC CALABARZON chairperson and Batangas Governor Hermilando Mandanas handed over the check to Major General Melquiades Feliciano, Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations.

Since the Marawi conflict started last May 23, more than 150 soldiers were reported “killed in action” when the Maute-ISIS terrorists attacked the Islamic City.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has declared the liberation of Marawi from the extremists-terrorist group on October 16 after terrorist leaders Isnilon Hapilon and Omar Maute were killed by military snipers.

The RDC created through Presidential Letter of Implementation (LOI) No. 22 issued by then President Ferdinand E. Marcos on Dec, 31, 1972 is mandated to coordinate the development planning and policy-making in the region.

Over the years, the RDC has evolved to become the highest planning and policy-making body in the region and supports government projects, programs and actions to promote and sustain the region’s socio-economic development. (PNA)
