Red Cross has now vaccinated 33,998 in Cebu

Working tirelessly despite the numerous challenges of the ongoing pandemic, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) continues to be at the forefront in reaching out to the most vulnerable as they have now vaccinated over 33,998 in Cebu comprising of COVID-19 priority groups.

“Kahit anong mangyari, hinding hindi titigil ang Red Cross. Our goal is to address hunger and the added protection of the general public as we continue our effort to Win our War against COVID-19,” emphasizes Chairman and CEO Senator Dick Gordon.

According to PRC Cebu Chapter Administrator Vera De Jesus, “in Cebu, three Bakuna Buses are moving around different cities and municipalities. A total of 33,998 individuals were vaccinated by Cebu Chapter in the Bakuna Center at Apo Gym in Naga City and Bakuna Buses as of September 20.”

“We have vaccinated several priority groups including persons deprived of liberty from the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in the City of Talisay for the South, and the City of Bogo for the north. We have also vaccinated individuals from the Drug Rehabilitation Center: Journey for Recovery,” De Jesus added.

Today, the PRC Cebu chapter also aims to augment their vaccination manpower in Talisay and Naga City as PRC aims to vaccinate more COVID-19 priority groups against COVID-19.

Aside from the vaccination initiative, the PRC Cebu Chapter also continues to support communities by providing lunch through its Hot Meals on Wheels food truck. Just last September 15, over 349 trisikad and habal drivers, ambulant vendors, and daily wage workers were given hot meals in Naga, Cebu City by PRC volunteers and staff.
