Refunded SAP aid to be used in second tranche

Around Php 344.7 million worth of cash assistance has been refunded and will be used in the second tranche of the Social Amelioration Program of the government.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) clarified that the refunded cash aid was returned by local government units (LGUs) due to duplication of distribution to the beneficiaries.

Individuals required to return their SAP aid are government officials from national government agencies, government owned and controlled corporations, LGUs, employees of the private sector with a stable income, retirees who receive monthly pension, families who receive financial support and beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).

The DSWD has also clarified that beneficiaries who returned their cash aid are given a receipt by the collecting officer where their names and the cash amount are indicated. – PTV News
