Romualdez tests positive for COVID-19

House Majority Leader Martin Romualdez announced Wednesday night that he contracted COVID-19.

The House leader confirmed he is “experiencing symptoms of the disease” but he is coping well.

“Let me assure those who are concerned with my physical well-being that I am coping well despite experiencing symptoms of the disease, and that I am in high spirits,” he issued in a statement.

Romualdez is currently in isolation and his doctor is closely monitoring his situation. He also urged everyone who had close contact with him to undergo an RT-PCR test.

“Rest assured that I will go back to work and perform my duties as Majority Leader of the House of Representatives as soon as I get a clean bill of health from health authorities, “ Romualdez assured.

The Leyte congressman also confirmed that he is scheduled today to undergo a second test.- Daniel Manalastas
